BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing a new Board of Education for Polk County, approved March
28, 1985 (Ga. L. 1985, p. 4985), as amended, particularly by an Act approved
April 21, 1997 (Ga. L. 1997, p. 4220) so as to provide the compensation and
expenses of the members of the board of education; to provide for an effective
date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing a new Board of Education for Polk County, approved March 28, 1985
(Ga. L. 1985, p. 4985), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 21,
1997 (Ga. L. 1997, p. 4220) is amended by revising subsection (c) of Section 4
as follows:
"(c)
Duly elected and serving members of the board of education shall receive $75.00
per diem for each day of attendance at all official meetings of the board of
education and while meeting and traveling within or outside the state as a
member of a committee of the board on official business authorized by the
majority of the board. The members of the board shall be reimbursed for any
expenses incurred in the performance of his or her official
duties."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
