BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act placing the coroner of Harris County upon a monthly salary,
approved March 10, 1964 (Ga. L. p. 2623), as amended, so as to fix the
compensation of the coroner; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting
laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act placing the coroner of Harris County upon a monthly salary, approved March
10, 1964 (Ga. L. p. 2623), as amended, is amended by revising subsection (a) of
Section 1 as follows:
"(a)
The coroner of Harris County shall receive an annual salary of $12,000.00,
payable in equal monthly installments of $1,000.00, in lieu of the fee system of
compensation formerly allowed said officer. Except as provided in this section,
the salary shall be in lieu of all fees, commissions, emoluments, and
perquisities of whatever kind formerly allowed the coroner for his or her
services."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on January 1, 2009.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
