BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating a charter for the City of Bloomingdale, Georgia, approved
March 25, 1974 (Ga. L. 1974, p. 3439), as amended, so as to change certain
provisions relating to the city entering into franchise contracts; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating a charter for the City of Bloomingdale, Georgia, approved March 25,
1974 (Ga. L. 1974, p. 3439), as amended, is amended by revising subsection (h)
of Section 1.04, as follows:
"(h)
To grant franchises or make contracts for public utilities and public services,
not to exceed a period of 40 years. The council may prescribe the rates, fares,
regulations, and standards and conditions of service applicable to the service
to be provided by the franchise grantee or contractor."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
