BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Chapter 12 of Title 12 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the "Georgia Asbestos Safety Act," so as to revise certain provisions
concerning the definition of contractor; to repeal conflicting laws; and for
other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Chapter
12 of Title 12 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
"Georgia Asbestos Safety Act," is amended by revising paragraph (4) of Code
Section 12-12-3, relating to definitions, as follows:
"(4)
'Contractor' means any person who contracts
with an
owner or operator of a facility or residential
dwelling to perform the removal or
encapsulation of friable asbestos-containing material from any
such
facility or residential dwelling. Such term shall not include any employee of
such
the
owner or operator
of a facility
or residential
dwelling."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
