BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating the Banks County board of commissioners, approved August
19, 1916 (Ga. L. 1916, p. 349), as amended, particularly by an Act approved
March 27, 1985 (Ga. L. 1985, p. 4532), and an Act approved April 14, 1997 (Ga.
L. 1997, p. 4166), so as to change the compensation of the chairperson and other
members of the board of commissioners; to provide for related matters; to
provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating the Banks County board of commissioners, approved August 19, 1916
(Ga. L. 1916, p. 349), as amended, particularly by an Act approved March 27,
1985 (Ga. L. 1985, p. 4532), and an Act approved April 14, 1997 (Ga. L. 1997, p.
4166), is amended by revising subsections (a) and (b) of Section 8 as
follows:
"(a)
Effective January 1, 2009, the chairperson of the board of commissioners shall
be compensated by an annual salary of $60,000.00.
(b)
Effective January 1, 2009, each other member of the board of commissioners shall
be compensated by an annual salary of $15,000.00."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on January 1, 2009.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
