BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 40-5-57 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to suspension or revocation of license of habitually negligent or dangerous
driver, so as to add a fine for each moving violation which shall be used to
fund a trauma care system in Georgia; to provide for related matters; to provide
for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.

IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 40-5-57 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
suspension or revocation of license of habitually negligent or dangerous driver,
is amended by adding a new subparagraph (c)(1)(D) to read as
follows:
"(D)
For any conviction for an offense listed in subparagraph (c)(1)(A) of this Code
section, the court shall, in addition to any other fees and fines that are
assessed, add a penalty of $2.50. This penalty shall be deposited in the
general fund of this state with the intent that the moneys be used to fund a
trauma care system in Georgia."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2007.

3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
