BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Article 1 of Chapter 12 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to general provisions concerning jurors, so as to increase
the maximum per diem for court bailiffs; to provide for related matters; to
repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Article
1 of Chapter 12 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to general provisions concerning jurors, is amended by revising paragraph (1) of
subsection (a) of Code Section 15-12-7, relating to compensation of court
bailiffs and expense allowance for jurors to be fixed by grand jury, as
follows:
"(1)
The compensation of court bailiffs in the superior courts of such counties for
the next succeeding year, such compensation not to be less than $5.00 nor to
exceed
$70.00
$120.00
per diem. The same compensation shall be allowed to bailiffs of the several
state courts and special courts as is allowed bailiffs in the superior court of
the county in which the state or special court is located;".
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
