A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Title 50 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to state government, so as to provide for the Georgia Innovation Center Act; to provide for legislative findings and intent; to provide a short title; to create the Board of Innovation and provide for a director for the Georgia Innovation Center; to provide for certain duties of the board and director; to establish the Georgia Venture Capital Fund; to provide for the supervision and management of the venture capital fund; to provide for the authority of the center to make direct investments related to scientific innovations and early stage investment projects by means of equity investments, loans, or grants; to establish a funding mechanism for certain facilities and equipment for scientific research and science innovative businesses; to provide for definitions; to provide for the issuance of bonds; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
