History and Duties
The Appropriations Committee is responsible for proposing legislation that allocates funds to the numerous government agencies, departments, and organizations on an annual basis. With its nine sub-committees, Appropriations is responsible for holding hearings as well as approving said legislation for a $16 billion balanced budget.
