| Creates the House Study Committee on Cellular Phone Contract, Billing, and Rebate Practices. The committee would be charged with investigating the contract, billing, and rebate practices of the cellular industry in Georgia, how it affects the citizens of this state, and other related issues. The committee would be composed of five members of the House of Representatives presently serving on the House Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications all of whom would be appointed by the Speaker of the House. The chair of the committee would be designated by the Speaker and the chair would call all meetings. The committee would be allotted 5 meeting days. If the committee makes a report of its findings and recommendations with suggestions for legislation, the report shall be made on or before December 31, 2007. The committee stands abolished on December 31, 2007. | |||||||||||||||||||||
