"The House Study Committee on State Health Benefit Plan Design was created by the passage of House Resolution 512. The Speaker has charged the committee to examine the current State Health Benefit Plan and research new and innovative ways to improve the SHBP, while at the same time making the plan both more efficient and more cost-effective for the State and its employees, retirees, and their families and beneficiaries. A thorough examination of the current plan, as well as research on the best practices of other states and private insurance plans will yield the solutions that Georgia needs to ensure our state employees continue to have great coverage and keep themselves and their families as healthy as they can."
