REPRESENTATIVE MATT RAMSEY NAMED ATLANTA—Georgia State Representative Barry Fleming (R-Augusta), Majority Whip, today announced that he has tapped State Representative Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City) to serve as Deputy Whip for the 2008 legislative session. “The role of Deputy Whip is crucial in determining the leanings of the caucus and advancing our common-sense conservative vision for Georgia,” Fleming said. “Representative Ramsey will be valuable asset in this leadership position and I look forward to working with him in the coming months.” Deputy Whips will each be assigned to track the thoughts and receive input from members of the Republican Caucus. When key legislation is presented for consideration on the House floor, Deputy Whips will assist the Majority Whip in gathering information about the leanings of caucus members. “I look forward to this opportunity and to working with my colleagues to advance our vision for Georgia of lower taxes, smaller government and the preservation of traditional family values,” Ramsey said. ### |
