Representative Alan Powell

HD 29 (D - Hartwell)

Born November 10th in Hartwell, Georgia, Representative Alan Powell graduated from Hart County High School. He later attended Georgia Southwestern College, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science.

The self-employed legislator was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1990. Prior to his membership in the Georgia General Assembly, he was Chairman of the Hart County Board of Commissioners.

Presently, his legislative duties include service as a member of the Appropriations, Governmental Affairs and Motor Vehicles Committees. He is the representative for House District 29 which covers communities in Franklin, Hart and Madison Counties.
