ATLANTA – State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro) has announced that the Comprehensive Tax Reform Study Committee will hold its fifth meeting on Wednesday, August 30, 2006.  The meeting will be held at East Georgia College, in room D-146 of the Physical Education Center.  It will begin at 9:30 AM.

Representative Parrish will serve as the chair of the meeting, which is being held for the purpose of discussing Small Business and Border Community Issues. 

The Tax Reform Study Committee was created through House Resolution 1464 during the 2006 Legislative Session.  The study committee is chaired by Representative Larry O’Neal.  Richard Royal, Butch Parrish, James Mills, Chuck Martin, David Knight and Steve Tumlin were selected as committee members. Each member of the study committee will chair one of the seven meetings that will take place throughout the state.
