REPRESENTATIVE HOWARD MAXWELL NAMED CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE COMMITTEE ON INFORMATION AND AUDITS

ATLANTA—Georgia State Representative Howard Maxwell (R-Dallas) was appointed by House Speaker Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) to serve as Chairman of the House Committee on Information and Audits.

“I am honored to be asked to take over the responsibilities as chair of this committee,” Maxwell said.  “Dan Lakly was a friend of mine and a respected colleague, and I hope to honor his memory by my service in this role.”

Maxwell joined the Georgia House of Representatives in 2003.  His previous public service includes 5 years as Chairman of the Paulding County Board of Education and 4 years as Vice-Chairman.  He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the House Insurance Committee and the House Retirement Committee, and a member of the House Appropriations Committee, House Banks & Banking Committee and the House Education Committee.
