
Representative David Lucas

HD 139 (D - Macon)
Born April 23, 1950 in Byron, Peach County, Georgia, Representative David Lucas graduated from Lanier High School. He later attended Tuskegee University, where he earned a degree in Political Science. He also holds a Juris Doctorate from Mercer University’s Medical School.
David is married to Elaine H. Lucas and they are the proud parents of 4 children, David, Jr., Aris, Leonard and Albert. They have also been blessed with 6 grandchildren, Leonard, Jr., Bryice, Kenney, Jr., Destynee, Jhaquan and Brandy. David and Elaine are members of the Steward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Macon.
The self-employed legislator was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1974. He represents House District 139 which includes parts of Bibb County. His legislative service presently includes membership on the Industrial Relations, Insurance and Public Utilities and Telecommunications Committees. Lucas also is an active member of the 100 Black Men Macon-Middle Georgia.
