Representative Kevin Levitas

HD 82 (D - Atlanta)

Representative Kevin Levitas, a lifelong DeKalb County resident, was elected to serve the people of House District 82 in 2006. District 82 is roughly bounded by neighborhoods in the Brockett, Northlake, Pleasantdale and Tucker communities.

Representative Levitas is an active member of numerous volunteer and civic organizations, including the Northlake Community Alliance, the Tucker Business Association, the Tucker Civic Association, the American Jewish Committee, and the Anti-Defamation League. He also coaches community youth sports teams.

Representative Levitas earned his law degree from The University of Georgia after being graduated cum laude from Middlebury College with a degree in Political Science. He served as an Assistant District Attorney in DeKalb County and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia. He is Vice President of Hill Manufacturing Company, Inc. and represents the third generation in this family business. Prior to entering law school, Representative Levitas served as Legislative Assistant to the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Representative Levitas is married to Claudia Koeppel Levitas, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Huddle House, Inc. They live with their two children in the Northlake/Briarcliff Road area near Lakeside High School and are members of The Temple.
