Majority Leader Keen Announces New Deputy Chief of Staff ATLANTA, GA – House Majority Leader Jerry Keen (R-St. Simons) announced today that Deputy Chief of Staff Malcolm Smith will be leaving his office and will be replaced by Chase Daughtrey. “Malcolm has been with me since Republicans took control of the House in 2004, and his service has been invaluable,” said Keen. “He will be greatly missed, not only by me but by the other members of the House as well.” Smith is leaving the Majority Leader’s office to work for Aflac in their government affairs department. Prior to joining the Majority Leader’s office, he worked at the Georgia Republican Party. “Working with Jerry, the other members of House leadership, and each and every representative has been not only an honor but a truly enjoyable experience,” said Smith. Daughtrey most recently worked for U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson and previously served as the campaign manager for the Gary Black for Agriculture Commissioner Campaign. He graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in political science. “I was privileged to work with Chase during my time with Senator Isakson. He is talented, hard-working, and will be an asset to the entire House of Representatives,” said Chris Cummiskey, Chief of Staff for Speaker of the House Glenn Richardson. |
