REPRESENTATIVE JORDAN CALLS ON DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO INVESTIGATE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THE CLAYTON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION ATLANTA—Georgia State Representative Darryl Jordan (D-Riverdale) has sent a letter to Jewel Scott, Clayton County District Attorney, requesting an investigation be opened in the accusations of wrong doing leveled against the Clayton County Board of Education. “I have asked for this investigation because I believe it is past time for the members of our local school board to start putting the needs of students first,” Jordan said. “If our local schools loose their accreditation, the ones to suffer will be the kids. They will loose their eligibility for the HOPE scholarship locking many of them out of the opportunity to go to college. Some colleges and universities will not even consider them for admittance if the schools are not properly accredited. This devastating impact will have repercussions for years to come on our students and on our community. I hope that the district attorney opens an investigation immediately and that we are able to resolve this situation expeditiously.” ### |
