
Representative Virgil Fludd

HD 66 (D - Fayetteville)
Virgil Fludd is a State Representative, serving in the 66th House District. District 66 includes parts of Fayette and Fulton Counties in south metro Atlanta. He serves on the Ways and Means, Children and Youth and Banking Committees.
Virgil has nearly 30 years of sales, marketing, management, and consulting experience. He is currently President and CEO of the Carvir Group, Inc., consulting firm that provides recruiting and executive coaching services to clients across the country. The firm handles a range of recruiting assignments in the financial services, technology, manufacturing, non-profit and healthcare industries.
Previously, Virgil worked for Bank of America as a Vice President and Sales Manager where he was responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing programs in the Corporate Trust department. Virgil worked for Xerox Corporation for the first 10 years of his career. He held a variety of positions including field sales, product marketing, sales management, planning and executive assignments.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Foundation, the Board of Directors for the Center for Policy Alternatives (Washington, DC), the Board of Advisors for Christian City, the 100 Black Men of South Metro and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. He is a founding member of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators Financial Literary Task Force. Mr. Fludd is also Flemming Fellow, and a graduate of Leadership Atlanta (2009) and the Georgia Legislative Leadership Institute.
Virgil is a past president of the North Fayette Community Association and a former board chairman of the Dr. Ronald E. McNair Foundation. He has been a member of the National Association of Urban Bankers, the Atlanta Human Resources Association, the Atlanta and Fayette County Chambers of Commerce and the Old National Merchants Association. He is a graduate of Leadership Fayette and was a mentor with the Georgia 100 MentorExchange Program. Virgil’s community service has earned him numerous awards, including the "Pioneer Award" from the Atlanta Urban Bankers and recognition in Who's Who of Successful African Americans and Who's Who of Successful Entrepreneurs.
In 1980, Virgil earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Davidson College in Davidson, NC. He has been married for 24 years to Carolyn Fludd. They are the proud parents of two college students, Christine at Spelman and Brendan at Morehouse.
