SPEAKER APPOINTS REPRESENTATIVE JIM COLE
TO THE HOUSE HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE AND FORMULA
STUDY COMMITTEE
ATLANTA—Speaker of the House Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) has tapped State Representative Jim Cole to serve on the House Higher Education Finance and Funding Study Committee.
“Representative Cole is uniquely qualified to serve on this committee and I am proud to have him in this role,” Richardson said.
Created by House Resolution 1082, the study committee is charged with reviewing the outdated funding formula of the University System of Georgia and the Department of Technical and Adult Education. The current funding formula for the University System of Georgia was adopted in 1982 and has not been reviewed since that time. In 2001, the Department of Technical and Adult Education was modeled on the formula used by the university system.
