HD 101 (R - Lawrenceville)

State Representative Mike Coan (R-Lawrenceville) represents the 101st District in the Georgia House of Representatives. Coan is the Chairman of the House Industrial Relations Committee. The legislator was first elected to the General Assembly in 1996, and is now entering his fifth term in the House. He is also a member of the Appropriations, Banks & Banking, and the Intragovernmental Coordination (Secretary) Committees.

A graduate from the University of West Georgia with a degree in Business Management, Rep. Coan returned to his home in Gwinnett County to begin his professional career in commercial construction. Even though he has served for many years in the House, he believes that the most significant events in his life were becoming a Christian, marrying his wife, Hope, and the birth of their children, Austin and Madison. He and his family are members of the Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, where he is a moral and civics concerns minister.

Rep. Coan was selected as the Chair of the Industrial Relations Committee because of his experience of over eight years in the construction business. He is passionate about protecting and strengthening Georgia’s businesses and creating a good business climate for job creation. He also served on the Banks & Banking Committee since 1997.
