RESOLUTION
Commending
Sherry Saunders; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Sherry Saunders served with distinction for three years as service unit director
for the Camilla Rose Service Unit of the Girls Scouts, after having served
previously as a troop leader; and
WHEREAS,
she has shown herself to be an outstanding leader with a giving spirit and many
talents; and
WHEREAS,
in her capacity as service unit director, she recruited, trained, and managed
new scout leaders and fostered incredible growth in the scouting program,
increasing the number of girls participating from 200 to more than 400;
and
WHEREAS,
she incorporated new projects and events into the scouting program, including
World Thinking Day, Cookie Rally, father and daughter events, and community
service activities; and
WHEREAS,
she was recently honored as a "Pathfinder" in Cherokee County in recognition of
her outstanding community service.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Sherry Saunders for her many contributions to the welfare of her community and
this state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Sherry Saunders.
