RESOLUTION
Commending
the Cherokee County Marshal's Office; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the employees of the Cherokee County Marshal's Office serve with honor and
distinction providing police protection throughout Cherokee County;
and
WHEREAS,
these men and women are honest and dedicated public servants who strive for
excellence in all their endeavors and whose primary concern is the welfare and
safety of the citizens of Cherokee; and
WHEREAS,
they are highly regarded by the citizens of the community and by state and local
government officials as persons of unquestioned integrity and dedication to the
administration of justice and sound principles of law enforcement;
and
WHEREAS,
these spirited law enforcement professionals have exhibited extraordinary
devotion to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention
to detail in all their duties; and
WHEREAS,
the Cherokee County Marshal's Office has obtained the State Certification
designation from the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police becoming only the
third marshal office in this state to be so recognized; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the members of this body show their
gratitude for the unique and often unheralded contributions of local law
enforcement officers and employees on behalf of the citizens of this
state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
unanimously commend the care, courage, sympathy, and selfless dedication
exhibited by the employees of the Cherokee County Marshal's Office in carrying
out the difficult duties of their vocation and extend to them their utmost
appreciation for having so purely and truly defined for others the meaning of
public service.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Chief Ray Waters.
