A
RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the State of Georgia's 2007 Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education
(EAGLE) delegates on their outstanding achievement; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) program from the
Technical College System of Georgia's Office of Adult Literacy recognizes the
men and women of our state who have overcome life's obstacles and challenges to
pursue their dream of lifelong learning; and
WHEREAS,
instructors from Georgia's local adult literacy programs nominate their best
students for the EAGLE delegate competition from among more than 84,000 adult
learners, yet only 37 deserving students earn state-wide EAGLE recognition based
on their excellent character, positive attitude, superb classroom attendance,
and outstanding leadership; and
WHEREAS,
Georgia's 2007 EAGLE delegates are considered ambassadors and spokespersons for
adult literacy, and they deserve to be applauded for their exceptional personal
achievement and admired as adult literacy role models for their families,
friends, coworkers, and fellow Georgians.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body does hereby congratulate
Rhonda Greene, Kathy Broome, Lynn O'Bryant, John Touralack, Jonathan Augustus,
Lenore Delibero, Levi Redman, Lauren Ward, Doris Reynolds, Hassan Shaeed, Linh
Wight, Courtni Schwiederek, LaWanda Roundtree, Latoya Stewart, Sheila Owens,
William Bell, Emma Cox, Roxie Kelley, Mark Rucker, Ruthie Paschal, Evelyn
Norris, Janet Villagomez, Danielle Wadley, Jamar Hill, Tommy Floyd, Sr., Simone
Hughes, Abekoe Denkey, Marion Reese, Jennifer Garner, Willie Spikes, Heather
Gilman, Dantever Hicks, Johnnie Jackson, Jerald Copeland, Lynnette Adams, April
Musgrove, and L'Oreal Danford on their justly deserved honor as Georgia's 2007
EAGLE delegates.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to each 2007 EAGLE
delegate.
