Senate Resolution 69

A RESOLUTION


Honoring and remembering the life of Dr. Frank Dempsey Guillebeau; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Frank Dempsey Guillebeau was an admired physician, family man, and community leader of Albany, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, he earned his doctorate at the Medical College of Georgia in 1954, interned at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, performed his residency at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland, and joined Albany Internal Medicine as an associate in 1960; and

WHEREAS, in 1971, he co-founded Palmyra Park Hospital, an institution that is known today as Palmyra Medical Centers and has an excellent reputation for quality, modern health services in Albany, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Guillebeau was a former president of the Dougherty County Medical Society and was respected as a physician of unusual intelligence and compassion; and

WHEREAS, he was a long-time member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, elder, and trustee; and

WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Cullars Guillebeau; his four children, David, Watson, Mark, and Janet; his brother, Tommy; and seven grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, while in life he commanded the esteem of his fellow Georgians, in his death we mingle our sympathies with the grief of his family and friends.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join together to express their deepest regret at the passing of Dr. Frank Dempsey Guillebeau and extend their most sincere condolences to his family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Dr. Frank Dempsey Guillebeau.
