RESOLUTION
Commending
Sheryl Fowler; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Sheryl Fowler has been selected as Cobb County´s Coach of the Year for
2006-2007 for leading Hillgrove High School´s first year team to the second
round of the girls´ state basketball tournament; and
WHEREAS,
Sheryl Fowler, a high school teacher at Hillgrove High School, has exemplified
excellence in instructional knowledge and practices; and
WHEREAS,
Sheryl Fowler has been selected Coach of the Year for girls´ basketball
four times in her career by the Marietta Daily Journal; and
WHEREAS,
Sheryl Fowler has led her various teams to 458 wins, nine region championships,
and three final four appearances; and
WHEREAS,
Sheryl Fowler has been selected as the Cobb County Coach of the Year for
girls´ basketball four times in her career; and
WHEREAS,
Sheryl Fowler has been selected as the Naismith Coach of the Year;
and
WHEREAS,
through personal dedication and professionalism, Sheryl Fowler has brought honor
to herself, her family, and Hillgrove High School.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Sheryl Fowler for her outstanding achievements and her efforts to promote
sportsmanship in Georgia and convey their congratulations.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Sheryl Fowler and
Hillgrove High School.
