RESOLUTION
Commending
the World of Cheer; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the World of Cheer is a private cheerleading gym located in Woodstock, Georgia,
that trains 75 athletes on five teams, including teams for separate age groups
between nine and 18 years old and the Wonder Team for special needs athletes;
and
WHEREAS,
during their 2006-2007 season, teams from the World of Cheer won nine National
Championships, four Local Championships, and one Grand Championship;
and
WHEREAS,
these outstanding young athletes have demonstrated considerable talent,
discipline, coordination, and teamwork throughout the season, and their
cheerleading routines and formations reflect their creativity, spirit, and
athleticism; and
WHEREAS,
the squad´s performance is indicative of the extensive training, direction,
and support these cheerleaders have received from their coaches and parents;
and
WHEREAS,
the World of Cheer has cultivated a positive learning environment where team
members maintain a good attitude regardless of the outcome of any competition,
and, in the spirit of honorable sportsmanship, they are encouraged to always
wish the other team "good luck."
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the World of Cheer gym for its inspiring performance and express their heartiest
congratulations to these very capable young athletes and their
coaches.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Laura Mikszan, owner of
World of Cheer.
