WHEREAS, he was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, lifelong Bulldog fan, and devoted family man who made a special effort to attend the weddings of both his daughters, despite the state of his health due to terminal cancer; and

WHEREAS, he is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carol Cannon Humes, two daughters, and one grandson; and

WHEREAS, while in life he commanded the esteem of his fellow Georgians, in his passing we mingle our sympathies with the grief of his family and friends.
