RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Kathleen M. Bunner for her outstanding service to North Georgia
College and State University; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
North Georgia College and State University is the only state-supported
institution of higher learning in the United States that is also a military,
coeducational, liberal arts college; and
WHEREAS,
through her knowledgeable expertise and conscientious advice, Kathleen M. Bunner
has contributed immeasurably to the future of North Georgia College and State
University by helping to direct the course of its military science program;
and
WHEREAS,
North Georgia College and State University has a strong reputation for producing
some of the nation's top military and civilian leaders throughout its 130 year
history, producing 39 flag officers and a number of successful business CEOs and
government officials; and
WHEREAS,
as a member of the Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and
Universities for 1987 and 1988 and the North Georgia College and State
University Class of 1988, Kathleen M. Bunner is a living embodiment of the
school's long tradition of excellence, serving with distinction on the North
Georgia College and State University Alumni Council as a former secretary,
treasurer, vice president, and as the current president for 2006-2007, and on
the NGCSU Foundation Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS,
as she has commanded the esteem of countless peers, colleagues, and friends,
Kathleen M. Bunner has brought honor to the State of Georgia and the United
States.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
the extraordinary accomplishments of this distinguished citizen of Georgia,
Kathleen M. Bunner; commend her meritorious service to her beloved alma mater,
North Georgia College and State University; and extend to her their sincerest
best wishes for her future health and fulfillment.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Kathleen M. Bunner.
