A RESOLUTION


Commending Emmie Claire Howard and Reagan Elizabeth Hardy; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Emmie Claire Howard and Reagan Elizabeth Hardy are the cofounders of Southern Proper, a Southern-inspired line of clothing, neckties, bow ties, and accessories for men who appreciate fine apparel; and

WHEREAS, the company, founded in 2005 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, has been recognized for its unique, Southern-inspired designs in various publications, including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Y'all Magazine, Raleigh Metro Magazine, and Atlanta Magazine; and

WHEREAS, after meeting at the Women's College of Brenau University in Gainseville, Georgia, Reagan and Emmie formed a friendship that became a successful business partnership as these entrepreneurs created a company inspired by their love of Southern gentlemen and fashion; and

WHEREAS, after only one full year on the market, Southern Proper ties have become increasingly popular and are available in over 50 stores throughout the country; and

WHEREAS, this clothing and accessories line that celebrates the Southeast is a tribute to the hard work and entrepreneurship in Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Emmie Claire Howard and Reagan Elizabeth Hardy for their achievements and the success of their company, Southern Proper.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Emmie Claire Howard and Reagan Elizabeth Hardy.
