RESOLUTION
Commending
Wesley Cole Mann on becoming an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor Member; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Wesley Cole Mann of Troop 2 of the Georgia-Carolina Council of the Boy Scouts of
America has earned the rank of Eagle Scout which will be awarded to him at an
Eagle Scout Court of Honor on March 10, 2007; and
WHEREAS,
since 1911, the eagle has been the symbol of the highest achievement among the
Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS,
the attainment of Eagle Scout rank indicates that a Scout has developed
leadership ability, self-confidence, mature judgment, and mental and physical
capabilities that will be of immense benefit throughout his life;
and
WHEREAS,
Wesley Cole Mann has amply demonstrated to his Scout leaders and peers that he
possesses these qualities along with sterling character; and
WHEREAS,
for a Scout to reach Eagle rank, he must earn 21 merit badges, 12 of which are
mandatory requirements for the Eagle Scout program; and
WHEREAS,
in achieving Eagle Scout status, Wesley Cole Mann has brought honor not only to
himself but also to his family and troop, which is chartered by the Christ The
King Lutheran Church of Evans, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he was selected to become a Vigil Honor Member in the Order of the Arrow,
Scouting's National Honor Society, after having been a Brotherhood Member for
only two years; and
WHEREAS,
having such an honor, which is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can
bestow upon its members for service to lodge, council, and Scouting, bestowed
upon a Scout in such a short period of time, is another amazing achievement by
Wesley Cole Mann.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
and commend Wesley Cole Mann for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the
highest honors awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and the Order of the Arrow
and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and Vigil
Honor Member.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Wesley Cole Mann.
