RESOLUTION
Expressing
regret at the passing of Martha Fuller; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Martha Fuller met an untimely end in Honduras, where she was among a group
working on Honduras Outreach, a trip that included 28 people from four churches
in Newnan and Cartersville who sojourned to the Central American country for a
week of helping Honduran villagers improve housing and sanitary facilities;
and
WHEREAS,
she was one of three people who lost their lives when their truck overturned on
a rugged mountain road near the village of Mal Pais; and
WHEREAS,
her death devastated the congregants of Newnan First Methodist Church, where she
had been a member for the past ten years; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Fuller was 66 years old, and she and her husband, Mike, had three children
and five grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
she was a deeply spiritual and caring person who will long be remembered by
those who knew her; and
WHEREAS,
it is truly said that "No one has greater love than this, that one should lay
down her life for her friends," and Martha Fuller was the personification of
that love.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body express
regret at the passing of Martha Fuller and extend condolences to her grieving
family and friends.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Martha
Fuller.
