RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the Annual Habitat Hullabaloo Barbecue Cook-off as a Georgia State BBQ
Championship competition; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the 3rd Annual Habitat Hullabaloo Barbecue Cook-off, sponsored by Habitat for
Humanity-Pickens County (HFH-PC), will be held in beautiful Lee Newton Park in
Jasper, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the event is designed to generate funds for HFH-PC's ongoing mission to build
homes in Pickens County for deserving low-income families; and
WHEREAS,
the 3rd Annual Habitat Hullabaloo Barbecue Cook-off is scheduled for the weekend
of April 20, 2007, and, in addition to wonderful barbecue, it will host a wealth
of family activities with live music, car shows, and a chili cooking
competition; and
WHEREAS,
Georgians are noted for their love of barbecue, and over its past three years,
the cooks of the Annual Habitat Hullabaloo Barbecue Cook-off have provided
superior cuisine, satisfying the most discriminating of palates.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the Annual Habitat Hullabaloo
Barbecue Cook-off is hereby recognized as a Georgia State BBQ Championship
competition.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Habitat for
Humanity-Pickens County.
