A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life and memory of Mr. Jeffrey Greenblatt; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia has lost one of its most distinguished citizens with the unfortunate passing of Mr. Jeffrey Greenblatt on January 30, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Jeff was a celebrated husband, father, businessman, and community servant of Atlanta, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, he entertained a lifelong passion for cars, and he owned a BMW dealership in Columbus, Georgia, and later worked as an independent car broker; and

WHEREAS, he was a pious man who belonged to two synagogues, and along with his wife, Donna, he was active in the Republican Jewish Coalition; and

WHEREAS, his devotion to his community was only surpassed by his love for Donna and his two daughters, Lisa and Beth; and

WHEREAS, he was esteemed by his colleagues as a man of sensible principles and unimpeachable character, and, as he fought the advances of leukemia for over half a year, he inspired friends and family alike with his courage and dignity; and

WHEREAS, in life he commanded the esteem of his fellow Georgians; at his death it is fitting and proper that we extend sympathy to his family, colleagues, and friends.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
join together in honoring and remembering the inspiring life of Mr. Jeffrey Greenblatt, recognizing his many contributions to the community, and extend their most sincere condolences to his family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Jeffrey Greenblatt.
