RESOLUTION
Commending
Greenfield Hebrew Academy; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Greenfield Hebrew Academy has established and maintained a proud tradition of
excellence in education since its founding in 1953; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding academy has set the standard for Jewish education in Atlanta
and throughout the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Greenfield Hebrew Academy is the oldest Jewish day school in Atlanta and the
first day school in the country to be accredited by the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools; and
WHEREAS,
this prestigious institution has twice been honored as a National School of
Excellence by the Council for American Private Education; and
WHEREAS,
since its inception, the Greenfield Hebrew Academy has provided students with an
outstanding day school education, integrating Judaic and general studies in a
traditional curriculum that is both challenging and stimulating;
and
WHEREAS,
the Greenfield Hebrew Academy community includes the broadest possible spectrum
of Atlanta's Jewish community and is united by the shared values of the Jewish
people, including the unity of the Jewish people (klal yisrael), belief in God
(emunah), moral and ethical behavior (derech eretz), and making the world a
better place (tikkun olam); and
WHEREAS,
Greenfield Hebrew Academy cultivates each student's distinctive talents, making
sure to inform the mind, develop the body, and enlighten the spirit; its
experienced faculty helps to guide children on their journey towards maturity
and intellectual growth; and its graduates succeed at Atlanta's finest high
schools and the most esteemed universities and
yeshivot.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize Greenfield Hebrew Academy and commend its outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in education.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Matthew A. Lieberman, the
Head of School at Greenfield Hebrew Academy.
