RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Yana Vladykina; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
since the first day of the 2007 legislative session of the Georgia General
Assembly, Yana Vladykina has embodied the virtues of patience, intelligence, and
grace; and
WHEREAS,
as a guest of Senator Seth Harp and a wonderful example of Russian
ambassadorship, Yana has worked diligently as an intern for the Georgia State
Senate, earning the esteem of her colleagues and bringing honor to her native
country of Russia; and
WHEREAS,
Yana has carried out her responsibilities gladly, greeting every visitor with a
smile, directing guests to the offices of Senators, and delivering mail
throughout her Senate office suite; and
WHEREAS,
her cheerful demeanor has never wavered, even when confronted by a language
barrier, and she has succeeded in bridging cultural gaps by learning southern
English expressions while teaching her co-workers some basic Russian phrases;
and
WHEREAS,
she has provided outstanding service to the members of her office suite,
including Senator Robert Brown, Senator Tim Golden, Senator Steve Henson,
Senator David Adleman, Senator Ross Tolleson, Senator Seth Harp, Senator Doug
Stoner, Senator Michael Meyer Von Bremen, Senator Don Thomas, and Senator Bill
Hamrick; and
WHEREAS,
Yana has assisted her colleagues in every way possible, aiding administrative
assistants Tarika Jackson, Carmen Alexander, Karla Johnson, Vicki Gibbs, Kim
Crowell, and Laurie Sparks; and
WHEREAS,
Yana's presence at the Georgia General Assembly has been a rare joy, and her
endless warmth and world-class smile will be remembered and
missed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize Yana Vladykina for her outstanding service to the Georgia General Assembly, commend her courage in leaving her home country to serve in a foreign land, and heartily extend to her the best of wishes on her future success.
