RESOLUTION
Commending
Mrs. Judy Craft; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Judy Craft has brought great honor to her community and her party through
her many years of service with distinction within the Republican Party of
Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has devoted countless hours to the Republican Party, serving as a delegate
to the 2000 GOP Convention in Philadelphia and as an alternate delegate in 2004;
and
WHEREAS,
she brilliantly chaired and initiated the first prayer breakfast at the State
Capitol in 2001; and
WHEREAS,
she has helped to encourage legislators to support important legislation
protecting Georgia's children and families and has been very active in illegal
immigration studies and reform; and
WHEREAS,
she has been a tireless and effective advocate for conservative, pro-life,
pro-family causes across this great State; and
WHEREAS,
in addition to a commitment to her party, Mrs. Craft is devoted to her church
community at First Redeemer Baptist Church in Cumming, Georgia, and her
dedication to serving others has been recognized through her being honored with
the Christian Coalition "Volunteer of the Year" award; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable woman organized the Christmas adoption of the 82nd Airborne
Division of the Army, stationed in Fallujah, Iraq, and helped gather and pack
boxes of supplies, food, and Christmas stockings for the soldiers;
and
WHEREAS,
despite all of Mrs. Craft's civic commitments, she still has made time to focus
on her family, including her husband, Ken Craft, and her two children;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Craft is revered by citizens of all political persuasions for her
integrity, dedication to her ideals, and commitment to serving her community;
and
WHEREAS,
in all that she is and all that she does, Mrs. Craft truly sets a higher bar for
the rest of us; therefore, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the
outstanding accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately
recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
commending Mrs. Judy Craft for her unparalleled commitment and outstanding
service to the citizens of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Judy Craft.
