A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending pages Elizabeth Lockhart, Stephanie Lockhart, and Angela Tyson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Stephanie, Elizabeth, and Angela, three extraordinary students from Dade County, will visit the capitol building to serve as pages on Friday, February 2, 2007; and

WHEREAS, these three sisters are active in a variety of extracurricular and volunteer activities, including the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Venture Scouts, the Girl Scouts of America, and 4-H and are members of the Trenton First Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, these young women are highly motivated individuals, possessing musical and artistic talents, demonstrated by their participation in activities such as chorus, band, and drama; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia General Assembly welcomes the interest of young people and encourages all students who wish to learn more about the democratic process; and

WHEREAS, visiting the capitol building is a unique experience that affords the opportunity to witness legislation first-hand; and

WHEREAS, this legislature is honored by the presence of these fine young women.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Elizabeth Lockhart, Stephanie Lockhart, and Angela Tyson and welcome them on their visit to the capitol.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Elizabeth Lockhart, Stephanie Lockhart, and Angela Tyson.
