RESOLUTION
Commending
Ricky Hudson for being a Hospital Hero; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ricky Hudson does not have an MD or RN behind his name, but at his long-time
employer, Hughston Orthopedic Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, his impact on
patients and employees is immeasurable; and
WHEREAS,
from day one, the literal pouring of the hospital´s foundation in 1984,
Ricky has been part of the organization, serving as a plumbing foreman on the
building´s construction crew, and later that year, he joined the
hospital´s plant operations/engineering staff and quickly became known
throughout the facility as a man who can always be counted on to help with
virtually anything; and
WHEREAS,
among many others, his accomplishments include:
Building
a wheelchair ramp at the house of a colleague´s mother who had suffered a
stroke. He bought the supplies, built the ramp, and installed it without
telling anyone.
Helping
patients and fellow employees by changing flat tires, picking up those with car
problems, and with umbrella in hand, escorting colleagues into the building
during rainstorms; and
WHEREAS,
one colleague wrote: "Ricky is hard working and dedicated. He is full of honor
and compassion and he is dedicated to the success of our hospital and to making
a difference in the lives of anyone who comes through the doors of our hospital.
He is our co-worker...he is our friend...he is our Hospital Hero."
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate Ricky Hudson on being chosen as the Hospital Hero and wish him
continued success and good fortune in the days to come.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ricky Hudson.
