RESOLUTION
Commending
Bonnie Franco; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Bonnie Franco, R.N., B.S., M.S.N., is administrative director for behavioral
health services at the Bradley Center of St. Francis Hospital in Columbus;
and
WHEREAS,
she began her career at St. Francis in 1974 as a part-time secretary while she
was still in high school, but her dream was to become a nurse; and
WHEREAS,
she not only fulfilled that dream but also became one of the most innovative and
influential leaders St. Francis Hospital has ever had; she has played an
instrumental role in the development of several key hospital services, including
the outpatient department and the women's center, and in the design and
renovation of the emergency department; and
WHEREAS,
she has helped facilitate a partnership with long-time competitor Columbus
Regional Medical Center to meet the behavioral health needs of the area with one
program under one roof; and
WHEREAS,
she is active in professional and charitable organizations; and
WHEREAS,
she was the recipient of the Georgia Hospital Association Lifetime Heroic
Achievement Award for 2007.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Bonnie Franco for her many contributions to the nursing profession and to the
health and welfare of her community and this state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Bonnie Franco.
