RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and honoring the life of Mr. Steve Simpson; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most distinguished citizens with
the untimely passing of Mr. Steve Simpson; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Steve Simpson was born on September 1, 1961, in Harlan, Kentucky;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Simpson and his family moved from Ohio to Georgia in 1984, and they
eventually settled in Paulding County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
a Carter Grove Plantation developer, Mr. Simpson had signed over 31.039 acres to
the Cartersville City Schools for future development of an intermediate school;
and
WHEREAS,
he also served as chairman of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, as
president of the Paulding County Builders Association, and as a member of
Colonial Bank's advisory board; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Simpson was a devoted husband, a father of three, and a friend to his
community; and
WHEREAS,
his unparalleled leadership talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen
sense of vision, and acute sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of his
community and this state earned him the respect and admiration of his family,
friends and colleagues; and
WHEREAS,
while in life he commanded the esteem of his fellow Georgians; in his death we
mingle our sympathies with the grief of his family and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join
together in recognizing and honoring the life of this extraordinary individual
and send their sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends,
and colleagues.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is hereby authorized and
directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr.
Steve Simpson.
