RESOLUTION
Honoring
and remembering the life of Mr. Willie Lee "Bubba" Jackson, Sr.; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Willie Lee "Bubba" Jackson, Sr., was a beloved husband, a devoted father and
grandfather, and an active citizen of the Milledgeville and Baldwin County
communities; and
WHEREAS,
he was born in Baldwin County on January 19, 1926, the youngest of four children
to the late James Jackson, Sr., and Dora Lee Pounds Jackson; and
WHEREAS,
he served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II,
receiving several decorations while serving in the Pacific Theater;
and
WHEREAS,
his pride in his service to his country was reflected in his membership in the
Warren Hawkins American Legion Post # 523 and the shining example he set for his
family and friends; and
WHEREAS,
he was united in holy matrimony on November 18, 1944, to Dennette Alene Odum and
remained devoted to her throughout his lifetime; and
WHEREAS,
together they created and maintained a loving home that was blessed with four
daughters, one son, 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and one
great-great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS,
he was a faithful employee of Central State Hospital for 35 years;
and
WHEREAS,
God called Mr. Jackson to a peaceful rest and a life eternal on February 5,
2008; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the life of this honorable Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join
together to honor and remember the life of Mr. Willie Lee "Bubba" Jackson, Sr.,
and extend to his family their most sincere condolences.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Willie
Lee "Bubba" Jackson, Sr.
