RESOLUTION
Recognizing
Mr. Albert Worriels and commending him on the occasion of his retirement; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Albert Worriels began his career in the paint and body business as a helper
for Bowyer Motors Paint and Body Shop in November, 1957, later moving to work
for Econoline Paint and to J. B. Bohannon Paint and Body Shop; and
WHEREAS,
it was while working for J. B. Bohannon Paint and Body Shop that he became
inspired to build his own garage in his back yard, where he did freelance paint
and body work in his leisure time; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Worriels stepped out in faith, and on April 1, 1976, he purchased a piece of
land 300 feet from his home and constructed a shop with a paint booth, opening
the doors to Worriels' Paint and Body Shop, which is today known as Total
Recovery Auto Body, Inc.; and
WHEREAS,
over the past 32 years, Mr. Worriels and his brother have partnered several
times, running the business together; and
WHEREAS,
during his 32 years in business, Mr. Worriels has been active in his community,
serving the Woodville Community Organization and the school athletic programs
at Tompkins High School and Groves High School; as a board member for the Paint
and Body Training Program at Secondary Tech; as a member of the apprentice
program at Savannah Area Vocational-Technical School, now known as Savannah
Technical College; as a sponsor for community Little League Baseball teams; and
as a sponsor for both male and female adult softball teams; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Worriels has never advertised for business on billboards, radio, or any
marketing company, receiving his revenue from faithful customers who continue to
support a body shop that does quality work; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Worriels and his wife have five lovely daughters.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join
together in recognizing Mr. Albert Worriels, commend him on his outstanding
service to his community on the occasion of his upcoming retirement, and wish
him the best of health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Albert
Worriels.
