A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and honoring the memory of Mrs. Carolyn Coleman Smith; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Carolyn Coleman Smith was recently inducted into the Houston County Teacher Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, the Hall of Fame honors those extraordinary teachers who have made a significant difference in the lives of their students; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Carolyn Coleman Smith spent 19 years as an outstanding classroom teacher, before retiring in 1980 and passing away in 1986; and

WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; her loyalty, competency, reliability, and enthusiasm distinguished her superlative service to public education in this state; and

WHEREAS, her deep personal commitment to her duties as well as her great compassion for the students she taught earned for her the respect and admiration of the people with whom she worked.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body honor the memory of Mrs. Carolyn Coleman Smith for her many decades of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to public education in Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mrs. Carolyn Coleman Smith.
