RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Thelma Eleanor Ross; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Thelma Eleanor Ross was recently inducted into the Houston County Teacher
Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS,
the Hall of Fame honors those extraordinary teachers who have made a significant
difference in the lives of their students; and
WHEREAS,
candidates for the Hall of Fame are judged on their significant, long-term
contributions to student success worthy of system-wide recognition;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Thelma Eleanor Ross spent 27 years as an outstanding classroom teacher in
various Houston County schools, beginning as a second grade teacher, and later
teaching eighth grade math and eleventh grade geography, then retiring to Perry,
Georgia, in 1972; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; her loyalty, competency,
reliability, and enthusiasm have distinguished her superlative service to public
education in this state; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
distinguished educator be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mrs. Thelma Eleanor Ross for her many decades of efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated service to public education in Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Thelma Eleanor Ross.
