RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Gervaise Wynn Perdue; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Gervaise Wynn Perdue was recently inducted into the Houston County Teacher
Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS,
the Hall of Fame honors those extraordinary teachers who have made a significant
difference in the lives of their students; and
WHEREAS,
candidates for the Hall of Fame are judged on their significant, long-term
contributions to student success worthy of system-wide recognition;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Gervaise Wynn Perdue spent 20 years as an outstanding classroom teacher,
teaching at three elementary schools and one high school; and
WHEREAS,
the school system's Gifted Teacher of the Year is named after her; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; her loyalty, competency,
reliability, and enthusiasm have distinguished her superlative service to public
education in this state; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
distinguished educator be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mrs. Gervaise Wynn Perdue for her many decades of efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated service to public education in Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Gervaise Wynn Perdue.
