RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the North Clayton Falcons 13 and 14 year-old youth football team; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the North Clayton Falcons 13 and 14 year-old youth football team, created by
Head Coach Kim Scott at North Clayton Park during the summer of 2006, achieved
an amazing feat in securing a championship title in its first season;
and
WHEREAS,
through determination and discipline, the North Clayton Falcons competed in
various league tournaments and finished the ten-game season with a perfect
record; and
WHEREAS,
upon attaining the 2006 Clayton County division championship, the North Clayton
Falcons went on to win the 2006 Florida Youth Bowl Championship and was selected
on November 22, 2006, as one of four metro Atlanta teams to compete in the Frank
Ski Kids Foundation Youth Bowl; and
WHEREAS,
the North Clayton Falcons advanced to the final round and defeated the
Adamsville Vikings 29-0, winning the Youth Bowl and securing $10,000 for Flat
Shoals Park towards park services and programs; and
WHEREAS,
as a result of such an outstanding season, the Kids Foundation selected the
North Clayton Falcons for a special February 2007 competition in Miami,
Florida.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join
together to commend the North Clayton Falcons 13 and 14 year-old youth football
team on a season well played and extend to these athletes the best of wishes for
their future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Kim
Scott.
