A RESOLUTION


Commending Mrs. Carrie Wiggins-Ford; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Carrie Wiggins-Ford was born on February 11, 1908, and this year she enjoys the distinction of celebrating her 100th birthday; and

WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided the foundation and framework of success in which all of her family members have developed and flourished, especially her niece, Hettie Lane, who she raised and with whom she now resides; and

WHEREAS, she is a woman of deep and abiding faith who was saved on July 4, 1934, and has been a long-time member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Phenix City, Alabama, where she serves on the usher board; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and she possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and

WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and by the example she has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body heartily commends Mrs. Carrie Wiggins-Ford for her efficient, effective, unselfish, dedicated, and loving service to the members of her family and the citizens of her community and state; congratulates her on the delightful occasion of her 100th birthday; and extends to her its most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Carrie Wiggins-Ford.
