RESOLUTION
Expressing
regret at the passing of the Honorable Joe C. Strickland; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most distinguished citizens with
the passing of the Honorable Joe C. Strickland; and
WHEREAS,
he has long been recognized by the citizens of Woodbine and Camden County for
the vital role he played in leadership and jurisprudence and for his deep
personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community as evidenced
dramatically by his many years of superlative service as an active member of the
Methodist Church, head of the Band Parents' Club, and charter member of the
Woodbine Lions Club; and
WHEREAS,
this extraordinary jurist served as Chief Judge of the Magistrate Court of
Camden County for 18 years; and
WHEREAS,
Judge Joe was renowned for his significant organizational and leadership
talents, his remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and
his sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of his community, earning him the
respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
this singular gentleman was a person of magnanimous strengths with an
unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness;
and
WHEREAS,
the passing of this generous, kind, and devoted family man leaves an unfillable
void in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body express
their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of the Honorable Joe C.
Strickland and commend him for a lifetime of efficient, effective, unselfish,
and dedicated public
service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of the Honorable Joe C. Strickland.
